How to choose an auto CPAP machine
- Pressure range: most auto CPAP machines work from 4 to 20 cmH2O. Your doctor sets the minimum and maximum.
- Brand: ResMed AirSense machines are the most widely used, BMC and Resvent offer strong value, and VentMed is the lowest-cost option.
- Humidifier: a heated humidifier reduces dry mouth and nose. Check whether it is built in.
- Data and connectivity: SD card, Wi-Fi or cellular data lets your doctor review therapy.
- Mask: masks are usually sold separately. A good fit matters more than anything else.
Auto CPAP or fixed CPAP?
An auto CPAP can adjust to changes through the night, such as sleeping position. A fixed CPAP keeps one pressure. Most auto CPAP machines can also run in fixed CPAP mode. Your doctor decides which you need.

Is an auto CPAP the same as BiPAP?
No. An auto CPAP gives one pressure at a time and changes it through the night. A BiPAP gives two different pressures for breathing in and breathing out.
Do I need a prescription for an auto CPAP?
Auto CPAP should be used on a doctor’s advice, ideally after a sleep study, so the pressure range is set correctly.

Can I buy if I live outside Dhaka?
